I'm no Black Drum expert by no means. The few that I've caught were by sheer luck. I have however observed others and have assisted in netting some very nice sized fish. One rig that seems to work is also the same that is used for Flounder. Thread your line through a 1 to 1 1/2 oz. egg weight, tie on a barrel swivel, tie on your leader line to the swivel; app.10 to 12 inches of 15 to 20lb will work, then a 1/0 Kale or Circle hook. Top this with a live shrimp. Fish your bait next to the pilings near the surf at about midway between tides. Good Luck see on the pier
